In depth

Verdict

This looks really competitive but Calum Gilhooley will be fancied to make a successful transition to handicaps having won a couple of times in novice company at Newton Abbot. Jacamar is a bit of enigma but has dropped to a fair mark and finished well ahead of Umndeni last time at Fontwell. Mahler's Promise could be well treated on his handicap bow but is among any number of these capable of playing a part if on song. It took a while for the penny to drop with MISS HONEY RYDER (NAP) but she was making giant strides at the start of the year and there is still untapped potential in Warren Greatrex’s mare.
