      Verdict

      PIRATES SONG gets the vote to land this handicap at the expense of R Woody and Slip Sliding Away. The selection got her head in front off a one pound lower mark at Yarmouth on her penultimate outing and was not discredited after finishing second at Newmarket thereafter. She has certainly got her act together and if at her best she is sure to be in the shake up come the business end of the race. R Woody landed the odds after winning at Goodwood last time out. He is now four pounds higher in the weights as result which will make life a little tougher but he still warrants respect. Connections of Slip Sliding Away have decided to go with a six pound penalty rather than wait to be reassessed by the handicapper. That in itself suggests that he is still well treated at the weights and any market moves should therefore be noted. Pirates Song has more ticks in his boxes compared to the majority of his rivals so looks the percentage call.
