Verdict
Not the strongest of handicaps and one that can be taken by the in-form Siera Spirit, with Bold Wolf and Docklands Blue likely to make the frame. The selection is open to improvement after just four outings, only one of which has been on turf. His first three runs were on Lingfield's Polytrack and on the first two of those occasions, he went well, while the third saw him lose any chance when slowly away. Tried on turf at Folkestone last time, he was unlucky to finish second the Ask The Clerk having failed to get a clear run. He ran on well that day on good to soft, so he should have no worries with the ground and the step up in trip looks ideal. Bold Wolf is an eyecatching booking for Kevin Darley. The gelding also steps up to seven furlongs here, but looks to have the pedigree to get the trip and go on the ground, so he merits plenty of respect. So too does Docklands Blue, who has already been tried three times at the trip on the Polytrack without success. A consistent sort, he just seems to lack the toe to go with them when the tap is turned on and he may again be found wanting here. Nothing else makes much appeal in the line-up, and we will go with Siera Spirit.
