Verdict
ARCTIC MAGIC is the highest rated horse in the field but there are a few marks against her; Marsh Court is the only danger on all known form. Ruby Dante failed to recapture her 2007 hurdling form on her two runs before the turn of the year, Memories Of Gold is exposed as moderate and Kentford Mist has to improve out of all recognition. Marsh Court did just that on her first start over fences when running out a ready winner of a handicap at Taunton. Her mark was raised by 10lbs which leaves her on a rating 18lbs below that of Arctic Magic and she has to give 7lbs to her rival. Marsh Court has the potential to prove better than that mark and Timmy Murphy saw enough to take the ride again and holes can be picked in Arctic Magic. The obvious query is whether the last flight fall when challenging at Taunton has dented her confidence but she was also very disappointing at Newbury on her penultimate start. Those runs were in better races than this though and this does represent Arctic Magic with her best opportunity to date to get off the mark over fences.
