Verdict

Missed Approach is a dour stayer and was a fair sixth in the Ladbrokes Trophy at Newbury when Cogry was pulled up. Sir Mangan also stays well and comes here off the back of a win at Bangor over a trip that would have been shorter than ideal. Kerry Lee runs three including 2016 winner Russe Blanc, though may have a better chance with Krackatoa King and last year’s second Goodtoknow. On The Road, Emperor's Choice and Milansbar all ran in last week’s Coral Welsh Grand National but none of them managed to complete. Ballycross was pulled up here 12 months ago and stamina is likely to be an issue again but CRESSWELL BREEZE ran well in the London National at Sandown after winning over 3m4f at Fontwell when ridden by today’s pilot Sean Bowen. She should go close if in the same mood as she holds Topper Thornton on the form book.
