In depth
Verdict
There are some big stables represented in this bumper, so it could prove to be an informative event, and in it our vote goes to Shuil Bob, with her main danger seen as Gay Gladys. The selection has yet to race but hails from the Colin Tinkler stable, which has done well in this sphere of late. Being a half-sister to a bumper and hurdle winner, and a full sister to winning hurdler Bob Ar Aghaidh, there is plenty to like about her breeding too. The David Elsworth-trained Gay Gladys left a very good impression when second on her debut at Kempton, and the bare form of that race looks set to see her competitive today. Turning to the others and Adlestrop is related to winners, Blueland has already shown ability in Irish bumpers, while Paul Webber, who has been doing pretty well in this sphere of late, runs Fizzywiz, who showed some debut promise, although, on jockey bookings, Langdon Lane might be the stronger of his two entries. Nicky Henderson runs Floral Dream, whose mother shoed promise at this level, and there is something to like about Fortanis's breeding. Lurid Affair showed her first form last time, although more will probably be needed today, and Oliver Sherwood's What A Vintage is possibly one to look out for in the betting. Finally, Irish Totty showed promise on her debut but did not follow it up last time, and David Bridgewater, who runs Bobble Wonder, would love to win this race named in honour of his late father. However, we feel that the mare holding the best chance is Shuil Bob.
