In depth

Verdict

Youralltalk looks set to pick up a small race but, given that he's looked slightly one-paced over three miles already, perhaps over a sterner test than this one. Preference is for DON'T TURN BACH, too free to do himself justice on his debut for the yard at Aintree. Reported to have improved for a breathing operation over the summer, he's been described as 'a very interesting prospect' by his trainer and that certainly looks to be the case. He's taken to score over timber at the first time of asking, making the most of the weight received from Habbie Simpson, himself a bumper winner at Southwell last year. He was left clear on his hurdling debut but probably would have won anyway and should acquit himself well with conditions ideal. The Old Pretender's absence isn't a concern given his connections and along with Morcambe he should be considered but Don't Turn Bach looks the one.
