Verdict

Passato, a Listed chase winner, won a poor contest over this trip at Chepstow last month but ran poorly when strongly fancied to follow-up at Bath. Screaming Brave scored over hurdles at Fontwell a fortnight ago and having Serena Brotherton on board is an obvious bonus. The veterans' William's Way and Laconicos are closely matched on their run at Wolverhampton last month which the former won while Simon Walker won the first running of this in 2008 so his presence on the consistent Crimson Monarch is a plus. THE DUCKING STOOL is a late maturer who looks just the type for this after his victory over 1m2f at Yarmouth though prospective punters will have to take his lack of experience on the ground into account.
