Verdict
Regal Performer put in an improved effort last time out at Lingfield and can continue on the upgrade ahead of Verasi and African Star. Sylvester Kirk's gelding ran Vicario to four lengths over a similar trip and going late last month. He looks on a reasonable mark here and can finally break his maiden tag. Verasi has been tried over a variety trips and surfaces but has yet to shine and the application of first-time blinkers looks a desperate measure. African Star showed plenty of ability on the AW last season but not only has to face a long absence but also a huge step up in trip. Proven stayer Goblin cannot easily be discounted but the value call here looks to be Regal Performer to score for his in-form yard.
