Precious Mystery is the tentative selection in an ultra-competitive handicap hurdle; Miss Shakira and Novacella represent top yards and come here with big chances, along with Golden Bay. Precious Mystery has been running with great credit in better races than this, including when third on unsuitable ground last time out, when Novacella was behind in fourth. She should get today's trip and in Robert Thornton has a top jockey on board. Golden Bay might have too much to do off topweight but Miss Shakira has been chasing and might appreciate the return to the smaller obstacles, as her previous form over hurdles was good enough to suggest she is not without a chance here. Of the rest, Novacella was a beaten favourite last time out behind Precious Mystery and she is handicapped to get close to that rival today, but our choice in the last is the Alan King-trained Precious Mystery.
