Verdict

Eminent Poet and LATE SHIPMENT were third and fourth behind Flemcara at Chepstow last time. The latter is 3lb better off so there may not be much between the pair today and Richard Patrick’s mount is only a pound higher than when second over course and distance last March on similar ground. Beneagles has run a couple of sound races this season at Newbury and stepping up in trip could aid his cause. Crucial Role has been in excellent form but has gone up another 7lb for scoring at Ludlow. Itsnonofurbusiness has more to do than when winning at Market Rasen but is comparatively unexposed, as is Polydora who has won two of his last three and makes his handicap debut. Fingerontheswitch probably needs some help from the handicapper but can’t be ignored.
