Verdict

Irish import BLAIRS COVE gave notice of his potential when second to William Henry at Cheltenham last month. He had no trouble getting off the mark over this course and distance subsequently and is preferred to easy Fontwell winner Talkischeap. Burrows Lane has become expensive to follow and this is a step up from the maidens he’s been contesting but Captain Morley is an interesting runner as he wasn’t given a hard time on his hurdling debut at Newbury in December. He won three times on the Flat and was bought by JP McManus in February.
