Verdict

Early Retirement has only had two starts over fences and ran very poorly at Bangor last time but MUCKLE ROE has gained two of his three victories here, including this race in 2016. He made a very bold bid to make most on a return visit earlier this month when only caught in the dying strides and can get back to winning ways. Horatio Hornblower is better than these at his best and very consistent but hasn't run since April and has never won first-time back. Voie Dans Voie has never won and was disappointing on just his second start over fences at Haydock where he attracted good support though the heavy ground could have been responsible for the poor display. Cadeau Du Bresil was beaten a long way at Plumpton on his return to action while Capard King has been well beaten the last twice, though did run well here in the spring.
