In depth

Verdict

Usually it pays to avoid bumper horses carrying penalties, but as it appears a weak event the two previous winners Jeringa and Seymar Lad may fight out the finish with the first named just edging the decision, Keen Warrior may do best of the remainder. . John Wade's six-year-old made a very favourable impression when landing a Sedgefield contest earlier this month. He made all and came clear in the last two furlongs to beat The Wife's Sister by twelve lengths . He's plenty of scope for improvement and looks the one to be on. Seymar Lad left his debut run well behind when comfortably beating Summit Up at Wetherby, and he looks the obvious danger to the selection. The only newcomer is Keen Warrior, who hails from a very capable yard and should be watched closely in the betting. The others make very little appeal and so Jeringa doesn't appear to have much to beat and is a confident selection.
