Verdict

ORRISDALE attracted market support on his chasing bow at Southwell but was badly hampered and brought down at the second in the race in which Who's In The Box eventually finished a close second. He remains a nice prospect for chasing and compensation could be on the cards here with a clear round. Mon Palois has gone backwards since successful at Stratford in August but recent course and distance second Grange Ranger has taken well to fences and looks better treated than last week’s Newcastle winner Mance Rayder. Uptown Harry has the form to figure and Kings Cave could also get into the firing-line in first-time cheekpieces. Rock On Barney has travelled over from Ireland but the handicapper may have his measure.
