Verdict

MISS PROSS gets the vote to win this after a good effort at Haydock last time where she travelled well for a long way before folding inside the closing stages. Down 2lb from that run, she remains 6lb higher than her last winning mark. She will need to return to something like her winning form to score but the manner in which she travelled suggested she might well be returning the form. Wee Forbees, purchased for 85,000 by his rider from Howard Johnson's yard returns after a solid first season novice chasing, although not at a level that some might have anticipated. Edmo Yewkay was behind Miss Pross at Aintree and has not yet recaptured his form of last season. Polar Gunner is advancing age-wise but there was some encouragement to be gained from his effort at Carlisle last time. An interesting little heat and Miss Pross is the nomination.
