Verdict

Philip Hobbs saddled last year's winner and his Art Of Logistics would have been placed again at Stratford last month had he not taken off too early at the last. The Grey Taylor needed his run over hurdles at Sedgefield and will strip fitter here. Degooch has won a couple of times this summer but is still on a decent mark and makes more appeal than weak finisher Gurkha Brave and Pair Of Jacks, who has just lost his way. LORD WISHES beat the disappointing Alderbrook Lad at Cartmel in June and has been campaigned over hurdles since. The latter is now 8lb better off but may still struggle to reverse the form so James Ewart's charge gets the vote.
