In depth

Verdict

A wide open contest gets proceedings under way and many would have chances on their best form but the principals look to be Polly Whitefoot,Gritti Palace and It's Bertie and the vote is given to Polly Whitefoot. The selection was a good second behind Rasharrow last time out that form looks rock solid in the context of this race and she need only run up to that mark to win this under conditions that suit. Gritti Palace rates the main danger on his latest second behind Dunbell Boy but that form has since been let down badly so he can not be put forward with any confidence. It's Bertie is another worthy of respect as he is sure to improve for the step up in trip and with his yard in form he should be noted in the market. Laertes has shown enough in two runs to date to suggest he can win a race of this nature but the suspicion is he may be one to look out for in handicaps late on. Of the remainder Nine De Sivola is from a yard in top form and is another that is sure to improve but he may need three miles to be seen at his best and for the winner we return to Polly Whitefoot.
