In depth
Verdict
A tricky start for the West Yorkshire punters but it may be worth chancing Lucky Nomad against Mr Christie and Squandamania. Richard Ford's charge is no great shakes but is at least relatively unexposed and this step down in class could be just the ticket to restore the eight-year-old's confidence. Mr Christie took a non-seller over three miles at Hexham. He is very much in the veteran stage of his career and at his age, connections are unlikely to lose him post auction so that probably explains his presence here. Squandamania's best efforts seem to be with plenty of give in the ground while Lanmire Tower would be something of a shoe-in if anywhere near his old best but all evidence of those decent runs seem to be but a distant memory at present. A difficult race in which Lucky Nomad is given only the most tentative of nods in a first drop into selling grade.
