Verdict

Jacks Last Hope won this last year off a 4lb higher mark but recent efforts suggest age may be catching up with Chris Grant’s charge. Silva Eclipse usually needs a run or two and prefers heavy ground but the going will suit Brian Hughes’ mount Western Rules and Teescomponents Lad made a promising reappearance at Perth three weeks ago. Young Offender and Loverboy, who prop up the weights, are unexposed and should be in the firing-line if fully wound-up with a similar comment applying to Shantou Vow. MR SCRUMPY is definitely worth a try over 3m given he got the better of some proven stayers over 2m6f at Newcastle in March. He won over 2m4f here on his return to action last season and should have more to offer.
