Verdict
Marsam has every chance on official BHA ratings but Mick Quinlan's gelding has disappointed in all four starts over fences and is hard to recommend in a race taken to go to HELLO NOD, who gets the vote over Norborne Bandit. Kevin Prendergast's gelding ran well over course and distance in November and was given a break after disappointing at Ludlow the following month. He should come on for his recent return at Newton Abbot and rates a bigger threat than Simple Jim, who was well beaten on his chasing debut over course and distance earlier this month. Apache Dawn was highly tried first time up over the larger obstacles at Aintree and should appreciate what is potentially a drop in class today but it is hard to see past Hello Nod. Julie Camacho's gelding was going well before falling three out on his chase debut at Catterick in January and he looks worth another chance today on earlier hurdles form.
