Verdict

ROBBING THE PREY looked a certain future winner when a close second here in November and started odds-on at Ayr a month later but didn't act in the testing conditions and mistakes put paid to his chances. He looks the type who can make progress and gets the vote. Mr Big Shot made a sparkling debut when landing a Uttoxeter bumper in March and is likely to be well supported here but the form of that race hasn't worked out and he's worth taking on. Rockportian won a point in Ireland then a Uttoxeter bumper in May. He started favourite for his hurdling bow at Leicester last month but pulled too hard and was soon beaten. He's the type to do much better and has to be respected but Honest Intent looks to need a longer trip. Cousin Oscar was well beaten over 2m4f on his hurdling debut at Sedgefield and will need to do much better.
