Verdict

Stellenbosch is the preferred option over Terenzium and Breaking Shadow, while Mr Midaz also has claims on the best of his form. The last named especially being worth an interest if he is supported at fancy odds. Admittedly, Mr Midaz has not stood much racing of late but he will have benefited from his recent blow out at Carlisle. This flatter track will be more to his liking and Donal Willians' charge can go well at a fair price. Breaking Shadow is likely to be popular in the betting, as he has won his last two starts in good style. Those successes came in modest races, though. And he needs to pull out a bit more at this level. Terenzium is a consistent type that represents a yard in good form. This course and distance holds no fear for the son of Cape Cross and, assuming everything dropped right for him, a victory would not be coming out of turn. However, Stellenbosch drops into a more appropriate grade today and, with the ground in his favour, this lightly raced (over hurdles) gelding, can make the long journey from Charlie Mann's yard in Lamborn worthwhile today.
