Verdict

Firth Of The Clyde never really threatened when second over 3m at Kelso. However, this is more his trip and a pair of blinkers could revive his interest. But SMOOTH STEPPER won at Newcastle before falling in a Grade 2 novice event at Doncaster and still has time on his side. He can get back on track, though Irish import Bishops Road is an interesting runner from the Kerry Lee yard. Fort Smith remains high enough in the weights and Le Bacardy has lost his way while Galway Jack was well beaten in this last year and usually needs a run or two to put him straight.
