Verdict
Caraline won this last year but runner-up Special Catch, beaten nine lengths, is 22lb better off and made a satisfactory reappearance over a shorter trip here last month when Oak Vintage and Saturday’s Haydock fourth Vendor were behind. Willie Boy was second over track and trip in October and then took his chance in the BetVictor at Cheltenham where he was in touch when falling on the final circuit. GET ON THE YAGER won the Rowland Meyrick on this card 12 months ago. That’s been the highlight of his career so far but he has had wind surgery since pulled up in the Scottish National in April and he has the speed to handle this drop in distance so gets the nod. Pain Au Chocolat has also had a wind operation but may be a shade high in the weights.
