In depth

Verdict

A tough race to call here for punters with very little between many of the leading lights but the principals look to be Double Ells, Jeringa and Hermano Cordobes and the narrow vote is given to Double Ells. The selection was a fair second behind Red Scally last time out, goes well on the ground and, off what looks a handy mark, he will be hard to beat. Jeringa rates the main danger on the evidence of his latest third behind Willies Way but the suspicion is he may just need the run after a 189 day abscence and with this in mind he is taken on. Hermano Cordobes is another worthy of respect on his best form but his best efforts have come on fast ground. Rothbury was a fair fouth behind I'm Your Man last time and with the booking of William Kennedy catching the eye he should be noted in the market. Of the others Delightful Cliche is from a yard in form and could go well at a price but for the winner we are happy to return to Double Ells.
