Verdict
Wessex King showed improved form when landing a novice hurdle at Taunton last month but Henry Daly's gelding may struggle to follow up under his penalty and a better bet may be TEENAGE IDOL, who gets the vote with Baltic Pathfinder rated the pick of the remainder. The selection made a winning start to his career when landing an Ayr bumper a year ago, ran well in two subsequent starts in Nation Hunt flat races and made an encouraging start to his career over hurdles when finding just Grand Theatre too good at Kelso last month. A reproduction of that form may well suffice for the son of Sadler's Wells. George Moore's Bogside Theatre showed a decent level of form on the flat, earning a rating in the 90s, but ran some way below expectations on his hurdling debut at Kelso last month. It may be too soon to write him off at the winter game so he cannot be discounted and makes more appeal than Quinder Spring. Lucinda Russell's French import was well held on his British debut at Newcastle and he looks best watched. Sue Smith's Baltic Pathfinder should come on for his debut at Uttoxeter back in June and could be of interest but it is hard to get away from Teenage Idol, who should take all the beating.
