In depth
Verdict
Clan Royal is again likely to have the Grand National as his main objective this season so Jonjo O'Neill's gelding is probably best watched back over hurdles again today and a better bet looks to be According To Pete, who gets the vote over Michaels Dream. The selection showed respectable form over hurdles last season and comes here having run with credit on the level of late. He makes more appeal than Keith Reveley's Totally Scottish, who has regressed on the flat of late and may now be best watched. Andy Crook's Jontys'lass goes on any ground and would have claims if fit enough for his return although of more interest may be Michaels Dream, who has a fitness edge over some of his rivals. According To Pete has solid claims in this company though and he is preferred.
