In depth

Verdict

Mortimers Cross won twice at Fontwell over the winter and probably didn't last home when pulled up in the Devon National on his latest start. He has a bit to find with Atherstone Hill on that run, however, though Robin Dickin's charge disappointed off his new mark at Haydock next time. Mark The Book was also pulled up on his latest start having won well at Chepstow while the handicapper looks to have got to grips with Mohi Rahrere and Dream Alliance is a light of former days. Le Roi Rouge may have stamina issues so we'll take a punt on WHINSTONE BOY, who has been taking on better company in the main. He's yet to record a win since arriving from Ireland but is well handicapped now and the ground is very much in his favour here.
