In depth

Verdict

Buzz De Turcoing and Deluxe Range both won over hurdles but are probably up against it having a first run over fences if their three rivals take to the larger obstacles. Ashtown Lad was in good form over hurdles around here at this time last year. Last seen finishing fourth in a Grade 3 handicap at Aintree in April, he could do well in this sphere. BARBADOS BUCK’S ran in the Albert Bartlett in March having rattled up a hat-trick in novice events over hurdles at the turn of the year. He has pointing experience and his full sister Barbados Blue won a chase at Fakenham earlier in the week. Ahoy Senor pulled off a 66/1 shock when beating Bravemansgame in the Grade 1 Sefton at Aintree in April and has also won a point so is another fascinating recruit.
