In depth
Verdict
Jodante has been in fine form of late and is taken to complete a quick hat trick at the main expense of Rookery Lad and Lord of The Hill. The selection has a 3lb penalty to carry for his latest success at Worcester on Wednesday evening and that should not be enough to prevent Richard Guest's gelding from following up on ground conditions that clearly suit. Owen Brennan's Extra Cache has dropped to a very favourable mark but has not won for a long time and is hard to recommend on recent evidence. Per Amore is another that the handicapper has given a chance to but he also needs to improve and a bigger threat may come from Rookery Lad. The eight-year-old has been running well in defeat of late but may prefer a softer surface to be at his best, while Lord of The Hill has claims on his best but is inconsistent. That is not a problem for Jodante though who only needs to reproduce recent form to win this.
