In depth

Verdict

Ravati deserved his success over course and distance in a maiden hurdle earlier this month having found one too good in two earlier starts but this represents a step up in class for Chris Grant's gelding and he may not be up to it with a better bet looking to be MARSOOL, who is preferred to Trumpstoo. Richard Fahey's gelding was nothing out of the ordinary on the level but created a favourable impression on his hurdling debut when landing the second division of the maiden hurdle that Ravati won and he has to be respected being open to further improvement. Sheena West's Mohanad won with plenty in hand when successful at Kempton earlier this month and makes more appeal than Jeff Pearce's Nicky Nutjob, who needs to improve on earlier form this term to trouble the judge. Neil King's Zepnove comes into this in great from having won her last two starts at Fontwell and Uttoxeter and she has every chance of completing the hat-trick. A penalty makes this more difficult for the filly though and marginal preference is for Marsool. There was plenty to like about the way that Don McCain's gelding won at Huntingdon last time when following up his earlier success at Newton Abbot and he can win again.
