Verdict
MASKA PONY is fancied to see off Wave Power and Caerlaverock in this concluding bumper. Graham Lee is booked for the ride on George Moore's gelding which looks a good booking (2 wins from 6 rides in last five seasons). The gelding, out of a half-sister to Detroit City, started at 100/30 on his racecourse bow at Kelso but failed to shine, finishing a well-held sixth. However he looks sure to be wiser today and if this quicker ground suits then he can run well at a price. Wave Power looks an obvious danger but his penalty may leave him vulnerable. He was a big drifter on his UK debut at Musselburgh and if the market is more favourable this time then it may pay to take note. Anchor Watch shapes as if he needs more time, Beside The Fire showed a bit of promise in a junior bumper at Huntingdon and may improve for this trip, whilst Caerlaverock looks the most interesting of the newcomers. His trainer does well in this sphere and this expensive purchase is related to sever winners including the enigmatic Ouninpohja. I'll be Frank and National Heritage need to improve on what they have shown so far on their final bumper starts but it is Maska Pony who can send punters home happy.
