Gagewell Flyer, a winning bumper and Grade 2 winning novice over hurdles, started long odds-on for his chasing debut at Thurles but could only finish runner-up to Shootin The Breeze. He was again well supported at Gowran but was destined for second spot when falling at the last. He may need more experience and is passed over in favour of LOUGHNAGALL. Adrian Murray's charge had been making good progress over hurdles before making a fine chasing bow behind Bullock Harbour at Roscommon. That was his only start over regulation fences but he has experience between the flags and that should stand him in good stead here. Big Game Hunter has gone backwards after a bright start over fences and ran a shocker at Clonmel last time while Raz De Maree also ran poorly in that event but was making his chasing debut and is likely to have come on for the experience.
