Verdict

PONT AVEN won a novices' hurdle over 3m on ground with some give here last month so staying is obviously his game. He may be good enough to make a successful chasing bow though Westland Row does have the advantage of three runs over fences, finishing runner-up in two of them. Gordon Elliott's charge is an obvious danger but The Mulcare Rover has looked moderate in five starts over fences and Sizing Joshua ran poorly at Limerick last time. Baily Gorse makes his chasing debut and was 37 lengths behind the selection over timber here in April.
