Verdict

Another very competitive handicap but it might be worth sticking with FLASHING GLANCE, who took advantage of a drop to this grade to score in a conditionals’ race at Kempton 10 days ago and goes unpenalised – he’ll be 4lb higher from next week. Humble Hero has disappointed this term and so has stablemate King D'argent and Capone but Purple King looked to be on the way back at Kempton. Scaramanga lost a shoe when behind King D'Argent at Chepstow so better is expected here but he faces no easy task for a four-year-old. Neil Mulholland runs Novis Adventus and Milkwood with the latter race-fit and making his handicap debut after just two runs over timber.
