In depth
Verdict
Material World catches our eye here ahead of Classic China, Kiwi Babe and, possibly, Our Prima Donna and Marjina. The selection ran well on her handicap bow in what looked a decent race at Kempton last time, so she has to be respected, particularly as she ran well over course and distance the time before. Classic China won an average mares' only novices' hurdle at Lingfield before running respectably when falling at the last at Haydock last time. Kiwi Babe hails from the powerful Paul Nicholls stable so has to be respected, even though the form of her sole run to date, in a bumper, is difficult to assess. Little Miss Prim ran well when fifth behind In Contrast at Cheltenham in December 2001, but has had only one run since. Marjina has shown promise in two bumpers, while the Henrietta Knight-trained Our Prima Donna has also shown promise over hurdles, although her form is only average. Overall, then, we like the look of Material World.
