Verdict

The Sweeney is 9lb higher than when winning this last year but was runner-up at Market Rasen last time and can figure. San Satiro won the 2017 renewal but hasn’t scored since and stablemate PEAK TO PEAK is preferred. The latter finished a close-up third at Ascot a fortnight ago under today’s conditional and this looks an easier task for Paul Nicholls’ charge. It was soft going when Samson's Reach went close at Bangor last time but he has plenty to find with the selection on collateral form while Gentleman Jon was last seen winning over fences here in May last year and it’s been sometime since he competed over the smaller obstacles. Serosevsky could figure if back to his best having disappointed at Cheltenham last time.
