In depth

Verdict

Birds Of Prey has been lightly raced over the last couple of years but there were signs of life at Taunton last month and this looks an easier assignment dropped a further 4lb. River Bray is tried in blinkers but has become disappointing while Reserve Tank appears to have lost the plot but Electric Annie is thriving back with Jack Barber, though will find conditions today testing enough. Guernesey has solid claims if fully wound-up after a break but handicap debutant BALLYBLACK looks the one to be on as he beat an easy subsequent winner at Exeter before his third in a Class 2 at Ascot.

Formwatch

Reserve Tank (IRE) 33-1 (11-3) Held up in midfield, ridden before 4 out, well beaten when pulled up before 2 out, at Ascot 2m 3f hcp (2) sft in Feb.

Guernesey (FR) 5-2fav (11-4) Mid-division, ridden to make headway tracking leader 3 out, every chance 2 out when not fluent, kept on from last, never going pace of winner, 2nd of 11, 3/4l behind Champagne Court (11-10) at Exeter 2m 3f hcp (3) sft in Dec.

Ballyblack (IRE) 3-1 (11-5) Held up in midfield, awkward 4 out, headway 3 out, close up 2 out, weakened from last, 3rd of 8, 11 1/4l behind Skytastic (11-5) at Ascot 2m 3f (2) sft in Feb.

River Bray (IRE) 20-1 (11-9) Prominent, not much room 1st, not fluent 5th and lost some ground, not fluent next, held before 3 out, stayed on same pace, 6th of 8, 7 1/2l behind Mr Grey Sky (11-6) at Ludlow 2m hcp (3) sft in Feb.

Birds Of Prey (IRE) 14-1 (10-5) Raced wide, chased winner until 3 out, soon pushed along, lost place before 2 out, 5th of 6, 8 3/4l behind Ajero (11-6) at Taunton 2m hcp (2) gs in Feb.

Electric Annie (IRE) 2-1fav (11-1) Raced wide, chased leaders, led after 4th until next, pressed leader, went wide in home straight, led again 2 out, over 1 length ahead last, shaken up and stayed on well run-in, won at Wincanton 2m 5f hcp (4) gs in Jan beating Sacre Coeur (12-3) by 2 1/4l, 10 ran.
