Musical Wedge was due to run yesterday at Stratford but would be hard to fancy on recent form in any case. Nom De Guerre has his first start since December but Kentford Legend has been in fine form lately, winning twice at Leicester, though is now 9lb higher than the latest of those. JAYANDBEE won and was placed twice in better company before the turn of the year. He's on a career-high mark here but is only a seven-year-old and should have more to offer. Rocky Bender is still a maiden under Rules and, like Trojan Sun, is hard to catch right while this looks too competitive for Princely Hero.
Kentford Legend 6-4 (11-9) Jumped right early stages, switched left to race on fresher ground both times in home straight, made all, clear until 10th and again before 3 out, unchallenged, won at Leicester 2m 7f hcp ch 0-110 (4) sft beating Lough Coi (9-13) by 11l, 4 ran.
Trojan Sun 9-2 (11-10) Mid-division on inside, blundered badly 8th, mistake and weakened next, pulled up after 3 out, in a race won by Hollow Blue Sky (11-7) at Huntingdon 2m 4f hcp chs 0-115 (4) sft in Feb, 8 ran.
Jayandbee (IRE) 9-2fav (10-7) Held up mid-division, headway 14th, went 4th before 4 out, went 3rd 3 out, ridden and every chance last, kept on same pace, 3rd of 12, 1 3/4l behind Major Malarkey (11-5) at Exeter 4m hcp chs 0-125 (3) gd in Dec.
Musical Wedge 16-1 (10-12) Held up in touch, not fluent 7th or 10th, went 2nd after 13th until next, weakened before 4 out, 5th of 7, 50l behind Flying Award (11-7) at Exeter 3m 6f hcp chs 0-125 (3) hvy.
Nom de Guerre (IRE) 10-1 (11-4) Led headed 3rd, tracked winner, ridden 4 out, kept on one pace, 3rd of 6, 7l behind Balbriggan (11-12) at Leicester 2m 7f hcp chs 0-115 (4) gf in Dec.
Rocky Bender (IRE) 17-2 (10-13) Prominent, mistake 3rd, not fluent next, mistake and weakened 5 out, 6th of 10, well behind Barton Gift (10-13) at Chepstow 3m cnd hcp chs 0-115 (4) sft.
Princely Hero (IRE) 9-1 (10-0) Tracked leading pair, went 2nd 3rd until 14th, outpaced next, no chance with leading duo, 3rd of 4, 20l behind Itoldyou (11-2) at Fontwell 3m 2f hcp chs 0-120 (4) gs.
