Verdict

PEPE SIMO is the only representative from the yard that sponsors the finale and it's reasonable to assume that he'll be tuned up for his reappearance. Henry King, The Rainbow Hunter and Lady De La Vega are amongst his likely challengers. The selection showed a wayward tendency when veering across the track at Sandown when appearing to have the race at his mercy. The winner of that race turned out to be useful whilst there were no such problems with his subsequent starts although he failed to figure at Cheltenham in March. He was beaten by Henry King on his second outing although Victor Dartnall's charge failed to confirm the form at Cheltenham although he was allowed to come home in his own time once beaten. He's a nice prospect for the future and is held in some regard by the yard. Andy Turnell enjoyed a double at Worcester in the week and he's represented by winning pointer The Rainbow Hunter who needs to be monitored for support whilst Lady De La Vega finished like a train at Fontwell and should appreciate the longer trip. Fidelis is another that's already got a run over hurdles under his belt and he has shown ability but could find at least a couple of these too strong and it would be no great surprise if one of them turned out to be Pepe Simo.
