Verdict
Monfils Monfils has been found a chance to get his head infront although Compton Star and Cash On are likely to have their followers. Nicky Henderson's ex-French import burst onto the British scene with a well backed success at Huntingdon in January but blobbed badly on two subsequent occasions. The handicapper has had a stiff task in assessing him but we believe that the Henderson horse will be unlikely to experience such mediocre opposition in the future. Compton Star is something of a course specialist and has to be respected in spite of his low win-run ratio. That said, his Huntingdon success against Pigeon Island reads well in the context of this affair. Cash On appears to act over trip and ground. His form is decidedly ordinary. Rajam looks to be a little long in the tooth while Contra Mundum appears to have regressed badly since landing a seller. Island Stream is hardly well treated on return from a long absence. A moderate affair in which Monfils Monfils is likely to be priced accordingly.
