In depth

Verdict

Berkshire Savvy wasn’t entirely disgraced on his first try over this sort of trip in the King George V Stakes at Royal Ascot but has yet to win on Turf. Aquileo looks progressive but may have preferred more give in the ground and this can go to BRIGHT EYED EAGLE. Ed Walker’s charge had only two rivals at Goodwood but was a ready winner and further progress is likely. Salamanca School dropped away tamely at Haydock but that run should have blown away a few cobwebs while the older horses Emenem and Rake's Progress are more than capable in this grade. Vindicate was too keen at Newmarket and better is expected here.
