In depth
Verdict
You wouldn't discount any of the eight set to face the starter, but marginal preference is for KILBURN, ahead of Everybody Knows and Hawaana. Alistair Lidderdale's gelding has the advantage of gaining weight all round, and in three starts this year he's won once and been placed twice. That following more than a year off the track. The victory came at this trip, but on the polytrack, and this is his first run on turf in more than 18 months. Everybody Knows was being awkward before his last outing last month which may have contributed to finishing out of the frame, after previously being runner up in a Lingfield handicap, the form of which has worked out pretty well. Hawaana struggled off this mark last time following a comfortable win at Wolverhampton, so may be in the grip of the handicapper. Eve Johnson-Houghton's having a decent season though, and Chris Catlin has a decent strike rate here. Sofia's Star is the only course and distance winner in the field, but may prefer it a little softer underfoot. It's a tight little contest, with marginal preference being for Kilburn.
