In depth
Verdict
Appreciate was a disappointing favourite at Bath and it will be a surprise if he’s good enough to cope with the filly SEA SYLPH (NAP). William Haggas’ daughter of Sea The Stars has entries in the Irish Oaks and the Ribblesdale and she ran a race full of promise at Doncaster in the autumn despite finding a mile too short. Watch My Six hinted at ability at Nottingham last month while the market will be the best guide to the newcomers from powerful yards. Patina is a full sister to a couple of useful types while Cuban Sands is a half-sister to three winners including the smart Fiorente. Pennymoor is 450,000gns Frankel filly but she is bred for shorter.
