Verdict

BEYOND EQUAL might take some stopping if starting the new season as he ended the last. Stuart Kittow’s charge won four times in total last year, all over 6f and on going good or quicker. Adam Kirby takes over the reins from recently-retired Fran Berry and his mount can compete the hat-trick. Equitation is a danger with race-fitness on his side. He was just touched off at Kempton last month and is only a pound higher, though has a wide draw to contend with. Embour rattled up a hat-trick in the first half of last year so can’t be ignored and Diamond Dougal is 2lb better off than when beaten only a head by Bernardo O'Reilly at Newbury in October. Gabrial The Saint has travelled down from North Yorkshire but Private Matter has left the Fahey yard since last season.
