Verdict

Elusive Flame is improving with experience and found only Free Verse too strong over C&D three weeks ago. David Elsworth's filly is a leading contender in this, as is Charitable Act who chased home Gerfalcon at Salisbury last time. But the fourth that day, SIR FREDLOT, will strip fitter here and is fancied to turn the tables on Willie Muir's charge and could be a bit of value with his favourable stall position. Amazing Storm is another to consider on his fourth at Goodwood, though it's not certain this drop in trip will suit, and Backtrade is also trying 6f for the first time having shown promise over 5f in his two runs to date.
