      Verdict

With a more professional start CARDINAL looks worth backing. Robert Cowell's son of Pivotal has ground conditions to suit and he ran on really nicely at Warwick last time despite giving away many lengths at the start. Elsie's Orphan has been holding her form well on all surfaces, Kensington rates better than last time and the jockey booking is a positive, whilst Bobs Dreamflight, Ivory Silk and Hatta Stream are all in good nick and their consistency sees them high on any shortlist. Arctic Lynx has had his Yarmouth win semi-franked by those in behind, whilst any further rain would suit Bathwick Xaara. Paul Hanagan looks an eye-catching jockey booking for bottom-weight Picansort.
