In depth

Verdict

It could pay to stick with those with course experience in an event that poses some real problems for finding a reasonably confident selection. There are several handicap debutants in the field and many are attempting this trip for the first time. Therefore Zarza Bay is only a tentative choice to follow up his course and distance success from a fortnight ago. The three-year-old displayed a game attitude under pressure and held on well in the closing stages to finally rid himself of the maiden tag. He is set to race off a 5lb higher mark tonight and will again have to be at his best if he is to prevail. Fortunate Dave and Spectroscope could pose him the biggest threat.
