In depth
Verdict
Rocket Rod was no match for Frankly Darling at Newcastle but finished clear of the rest in third. Nova Roma finished just ahead of Back From Dubai when making a modest debut at Kempton in October and both are likely improvers over this longer trip while Cabot Cliffs and Grinling are others to keep an eye on. LANZEALOT finished tailed-off over a mile on his debut but ran well for a long way over today’s distance at Lingfield only five days later before hanging in the closing stages. Fitted with headgear for this, Sir Mark Prescott’s charge should be spot on today and gets a speculative vote.
